The two year multidisciplinary post graduate course in Biotechnology is conducted by HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttrakhand, a reputed UGC ranked university and is fully approved by Government of Uttrakhand.

Biotechnology, the thrust area of development, has significantly contributed in the field of health care, food safety, environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, bio-industrial processing and the development of sustainable forms of agriculture. Therefore, biotechnology is directly and indirectly transforming our lives in many ways and its influence will increase in near future. The Indian biotech industry employs more than 30,000 people, estimated to create more jobs in the coming years. Therefore, it is opening up tremendous opportunities in government as well as in public sectors. An average salary given to post graduate ranges from Rs. 15,000 to 25,000 per month.

The course structure includes, Genetic Engineering, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Microbiology and Immunology, Cytogenetics, Computer Application & Biostatics, and more specialized subjects like Animal Biotechnology & Animal cell culture, Plant Biotechnology & In-vitro culture, and Applied Biotechnology.

ELIGIBILITY:- Bachelor in any science stream with 50% marks
