Botany
Botany is a science dealing with plants or in other words it is a plant biology that involves the scientific study of plant life. Botany covers a wide range of scientific disciplines concerned with the study of plants, algae and fungi, including structure, growth, reproduction, metabolism, development,diseases, chemical properties, and evolutionary relationships among taxonomic groups. Botany began with early human efforts to identify edible, medicinal and poisonous plants, making it one of the oldest sciences.

The subjects in M.Sc Botany includes Biology and diversity of lower plants, Taxonomy and diversity of seed plants, Plant development and reproduction, Plant Physiology, metabolism and Biochemistry, Mycology, Plant anatomy, Bryophytes, Pteridophytes, Angiosperms, Gymnosperms, Algae, Fungi and Environmental Botany etc.
One needs to have a Bachelor’s degree in order to get admission in the course of M.Sc in Botany.
Course Outlook:
The course of M.Sc in Botany is a full time course of 2 years duration divided into 2 parts of one year each. After every year one needs to pass in an examination after which he is promoted to the next part.
