INTRODUCTION

The rising and setting of the sun, the rain, the earthquakes, movements of celestial bodies, diseases, life and death were some of the mysteries of nature to the primitive mankind but through development and usage of his intellect he has been able to find a solution to quite a few of such mysteries. This ongoing battle for billions of years between the nature throwing challenges and human intellect accepting the same by finding or trying to find a solution for the same has led to the development of science and technology. To fight the challenge of the nature, especially the ones that concern environment, health and welfare of human race, a workforce of dedicated and creative technologists who possess the characteristics of forethought or vision, eloquence, consistency and astute use of knowledge will remain the ever-rising need of the society.

BACKGROUND

"Uttaranchal College of Technology & Biomedical Sciences" has come into existence as a result of concerted efforts of "Guru Nanak Dev Educational Society". This educational society which is registered to under the Indian Society Act of 1860, is service to the society by imparting quality education so as to build up competent professional and young technologists with moral ethical values imbibed in them so that such professionals can not only meet the societal needs of our nation but also manage effectively the affairs of the world, now turned into a global village in this millennium.
The institute is a dream comes true of its founder Mr. Gurdev Singh Warne, an engineer by profession. Uttranchal College of Technology and Biomedical Sciences runs under the aegis of Guru Nanak Dev Educational Society, which had been running coaching center of various diploma and degree level courses recognized by Ministry of HRD Govt. of India Since 1988. Inspired by the success in the field of quality education in the above field the society decided to set up this college in its pursuit of excellence in the field of technology and biomedical sciences.
